NEW AGENCY TRAINS WOMEN ON SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS OF BIRTH AND BABIES: ProDoula Shares Success and Teaches How to Turn Passion into Paychecks

Putnam Valley, NY – (Aug 12, 2013) It takes a lifetime for some to find their true passion, but New York-based entrepreneurs Debbie Aglietti, Randy Patterson and Lauren Schwarzfeld have not only found their passion, they’ve profited from it and are now paying it forward. The trio recently launched ProDoula, a Doula Certification Agency for the modern woman.

Aglietti, Patterson and Schwarzfeld recently celebrated the 10th anniversary of Northeast Doulas, an agency that provides professional Doula support to pregnant couples and families with newborns in the New York City, Westchester County, NY and Greenwich, CT. Now, they’re taking their knowledge to the classroom to help teach other women the profession and how to run a successful business.

“This is something we have wanted to do for a long time and have been determinedly working on to get it ready to launch, so it’s kind of like giving birth!” commented Patterson. “Among the three of us we have more that 30 years of experience as Doulas. We’ve all been certified trainers under other organizations but wanted to raise the bar and set a higher standard, for the training and certification process as well as the role of each Doula. The ProDoula philosophy is based on the desire to elevate Doulas to a professional level in the eyes of expectant mothers and partners, medical professionals, and Doulas themselves.”

ProDoula is a Doula Certification Agency, which provides training, accreditation and business development expertise to women seeking to become Certified Doulas. Doulas certified by ProDoula practice unconditional support, provide professional and compassionate service at all times and experience the espirit de corps associated with being part of an exceptional team of women.

While ProDoula offers certification workshops to become a Labor Doula or Postpartum Doula, it goes beyond the fundamentals of training to teach women how to craft their own personal career path and business. Once a Doula has been trained she is listed in the ProDoula Directory (as either Pre-Certified or Certified), where families may search for their perfect Doula, and she is entitled to her own page on the ProDoula website, allowing her to maintain a professional web presence, without the additional time or financial commitment.
