Peekskill-Cortlandt Patch Home of the Week: April 27 Edition

Peekskill-Cortlandt Patch Home of the Week: April 27 Edition

I used to own a home that a local builder built for himself. It was well made, with some nice custom features, and reasonably priced, because the builder got his materials at a decent rate and maybe didn't factor in labor to the extent that he would for someone else's home.

Here's a home in Cortlandt Manor which was built by a professional contractor for his own family. A “bit” bigger and fancier than my old place, but still a good value for the price...

281 Croton Avenue was custom built in 2006, so it's relatively new. At almost 4,200 square feet of living space (not counting the cavernous unfinished basement) on 17.8 acres (!), a most commodious habitat.

Driving down a long winding driveway befitting its proportions, we find a solid brick columned facade with 3 car attached garage.

The thing that sold us on our house was the kitchen. When we walked in, my wife said “This is it”. I suspect that when the right buyer walks into this kitchen, they'll feel the same way.

Every aspect of this property is high-end, but very clearly not pretentious or “over the top”. From the inlaid herringbone parquet floors in the foyer to high tray ceilings in several rooms, to the huge master bath, this is a very comfortable, attractive home.

281 Croton Avenue is offered at $949,000 by Joyce Fillebrown of Coldwell Banker in Croton. She can be reached at 914.434.0521 or 914.271.8500 ext. 112; email Joyce.Fillebrown@CBmoves.com.
