'Continued Opposition' to Power Cable in Cortlandt; Peekskill Historic District

Expect sunny skies and a high of 65 degrees today and similar weather Tuesday, with clouds and a slight chance of sprinkles in the morning, according to the National Weather Service. The forecast calls for cloudy skies and a high of about 53 degrees Wednesday. Later in the week the sun will come back out, but temperatures aren't likely to rise above 54 degrees.

Tuesday's town board meeting in Cortlandt will hit on everything a request for a stop sign at Kings Ferry Road to continued opposition to the West Point Transmission project to the printing of the recreation brochure. The project calls for a power cable, equipped to carry 1,000 megawatts of electricity, to run below the bed of the Hudson River for about 80 miles, from a converter station in Greene County's Athens to one in Verplanck.
