The folks at Homestyle Desserts Bakery in Peekskill have produced a super sweet treat—a cupcake tower that incorporates cheesecake, chocolate mousse and more—for one of the Yankees Old-Timers' celebration events.
This is the fifth creation the bakery has made for the Yankees. It took 20 hours to complete.
"We’re happy to do," owner Rose Sanca said."We’re a New York bakery doing it for a New York team."
Here's what the bakery said about the mammoth dessert in a Facebook post Thursday:
"It's Old Timers weekend at Yankee Stadium this weekend and we have been honored again to do a cake for one of the events. This year is a lolapalooza of a cupcake presentation, and here it is set up at the bakery. The Yankees will have it tomorrow, but you get to see it today."
Old Timers' Day at the stadium is Sunday. It honors former players. Yogi Berra, Whitey Ford, Rich “Goose” Gossage, Rickey Henderson and Reggie Jackson are slated to attend.
