Monday's Commute: Metro North Resuming Hudson Line Service

While trains will run July 22 with some delays, there's still a lot of work to be done.

Metro North issued this update July 21:

For Monday, July 22, Metro-North will operate a regular Hudson Line schedule with scattered delays of up to 15 minutes due to limited operating capacity following last Thursday night's freight train derailment in the vicinity of Spuyten Duyvil station.

[...] When the freight equipment has been re-railed and removed and one track is clear of all work equipment, crews will work overnight to install 160 feet of third rail on one of the two tracks and then run a test train before operating passenger service on Monday morning.

The remaining track will be out of service for the week and work will continue at night on rebuilding 1,500 feet of track before it can be returned to passenger service.

Late night -off-peak busing (after 10 PM) will be necessary in order to allow this work be complete and special train/bus schedule information will be available Monday on this website.
