He was a working comedian, friend and mentor to Tracy Morgan, who was also injured in the crash, and an active member of the Peekskill community.

He is survived by his children Jamel and Denita McNair, 2 brothers & 4 sisters: Randy and Gregory McNair, Jamel Jackson, Branda Godbee, Pamela and Cheryl McNair, Valerie Daniel; and also his nieces and nephews: Kisha, Jerome, Telailla, Jaquitta, Noel, Denzel, LaChante, Mark, La’Asia, Tyrone, Roiasia, Duane and Jared; and then a host of great nieces & nephews, and countless friends.

A scholarship fund has been set up for his daughter, Denita.
