The school puts an emphasis on character education as well as academics, using Catholic traditions and Christian principles to guide students to develop their intellectual, spiritual, social and physical gifts.  The school offers an extended-day program.</p>

Peekskill High School is located across from the Peekskill City School District Administration building.…More Some of the country's biggest basketball stars, like Elton Brand, began their careers on this high school's courts and are a source of great pride for the school.</p> <p>The school and community is also proud of its planetarium, which was built in 1996 through donations. The building was built in 1972.</p>

There is a digital recording studio available, as well as instrument repair and rental services through C Note.</p> <p>C-Note Music School recently added a "C-Note Corner Stage," a performance room with a large stage, excellent lighting, and seating big enough to comfortably host two hundred people. The room also hosts C-Note's seasonal recitals and various workshops.</p> <p>The school's teachers are musical professionals who are highly educated and trained to provide exceptional quality education.</p> <p>The school is conveniently located on Route 6 Main Street, in Cortlandt Manor.</p>

Mount Airy Nursery School is located on Route 9 in Montrose and shares the grounds of the Reformed Church of…More Cortlandtown although it is unaffiliated. The school is for children between the ages of two-and-a-half and six years old. The school offers the languages of French and Japanese and utilizes Montessori material for various educational disciplines. Parents choose from five, four or three-day morning packages and four or three afternoon packages. Capacity is limited to 35 children.</p> <p>Mary-Ann Feller is the director and teaches the four and five-year-olds, as well as music and French.</p>

The Peekskill City School District was formed in the 1930s when the Oakside and Drum Hill districts…More combined. </p> <p>Peekskill City School District has five public schools - Woodside, for students pre-kindegarten through first grade students;  Oakside, grades two and three and Hillcrest, grades 4 and 5; - Peekskill middle school, grades 6-9 and Peekskill high school, 9-12 grade. </p> <p>The School District building was originally used as the Peekskill Military Acadamy building.  It boasts a well-maintained auditorium and old gymnasium that is still used today. </p> <p>There are about 200 students per grade, with a total of 800 in the high school and 600 in the middle school. </p>
