The department patrols the four and one-half square mile area of Peekskill.   </p> <p>The department stives to prevent crime, protect the residents and businesses of Peekskill and maintain order in the community. The department also works to establish communication with community groups and agencies in order to foster cooperation in solving problems and improving quality of life. </p>
