The city owns four firehouses and rents space in a privately owned fifth firehouse. Plans to replace four of the five firehouses with a central firehouse are in motion. The department has three chiefs, six captains, six first lieutenants, six second lieutenants, 12 trustees, one career supervisor, four assistant shift supervisors, and one municipal training officers. It also has committee chairpersons who are responsible for special assignments. Lenny Varella is the chief, Robert Fiorio is the first assistant chief, and Vinny Malaspina is the second assistant chief.
