More than 240 students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade attend St. Columbanus School, which celebrated its…More 50th anniversary four years ago.</p> <p>The cornerstone for the current St. Columbanus Catholic Church  was laid in 1965. The school puts an emphasis on character education as well as academics, using Catholic traditions and Christian principles to guide students to develop their intellectual, spiritual, social and physical gifts.  The school offers an extended-day program.</p>

Lincoln-Titus Elementary School, located in Crompond, is one of  five elementary schools in the Lakeland School…More District. Over 100 people, including teachers, aides, custodians, and clerical staff help to enhance the students' experiences. With a current enrollment of 477, it offers education to  students from kindergarten through fifth grade.</p> <p>Lincoln-Titus has taken on the acronym T.W.I.S.T., which stands for Tolerance, Wise choices, Inspiration, Safety and Team Work. It is designed to help students understand the expectations for their behavior. </p> <p>Students have access to advanced technologies including smart boards and video conferences. To meet the needs of the children, it has reading and math programs as well as special education services. Specific special programs are also hosted in other buildings throughout the district. Extra-curriculum activities include student council, intramural sports, and Destination Imagination.</p> <p>School services include a nurse, two occupational therapists, a physical therapist, psychologist, two social workers, three speech and language specialists, two reading specialists, two math specialists, four special education teachers, a vision teacher and four ASPIRE specialists. </p> <p>The principal is Elizabeth McGowan.</p>
