Valeria is a historic, bucolic homeowner's community located along Cortlandt's scenic Furnace Dock Road. The…More community has a long history that goes back to the beginning of this century. Valeria was once an industrialist's dream--to create a getaway for New Yorkers that would ultimately encompass nearly 1,000 acres of gorgeous woods, including a lake and extensive wildlife. </p> <p>For years Valeria has been home to the Dickerson Pond Homeowners Association. Working with AVR Homebuilders, a green developer out of Yonkers, Valeria will be adding 147 homes to its property, making Valeria the largest residential LEED certified project in New York State.</p> <p>The community recently received conservation easements for 690 acres to preserve Valeria's forests, wetlands and wildlife. This has come from an agreement between AVR Homebuilders and Westchester Land Trust and its Cortlandt Land Trust chapter, in conjunction with the Town of Cortlandt and Valeria's Dickerson Pond Homeowners Association.</p>
