The version of "Mutiny on the Bounty," starring Marlon Brando and Trevor Howard, andRead More directed by Lewis Milestone, for which the ill-fated ship was built, was released in 1962, not 1960.

I remember seeing the Bounty a couple of times over the years, once docked in Miami and once whileRead More she was in a shipyard in Staten Island for a refit. From the perspective of thirty years at sea as a ship's officer, and having experienced numerous hurricanes at sea, I cannot comprehend the captain's decision to sail the Bounty directly into the teeth of a hurricane, particularly one of the worst on record. And there is no excuse for the captain not to know the storm was there. This is the 21st century, not the 18th century. Any captain would have been following reports the progress of a storm like that for at least a week beforehand.

What kind of religion must rely on magic tricks and cheap roadside trinkets to keep the FaithfulRead More faithful? Is there something less than engaging about the program, as written?

There are wonderful sledding hills on the Blue Hill Golf Course, which is town owned property.Read More Years ago, the children could use these hills for sledding, but not any longer. Why??? Can someone from the town answer this question?

I'm sure they are afraid of someone getting injured and then being slapped with a law suit, butRead More yes, Blue Hill was great
Lawrence Zeitlin February 13, 2014 at 02:08 pm
Without a doubt the best sledding hill in the area is the big one in the Croton Dam Park. I don'tRead More know what the restrictions are these days but years go the hill was crowded with risk taking sledders. It was a natural for wannabe lugers and bobsledders. We used to take our Cub Scout pack there but it was hard to get the kids to remember the Flexible Flyers don't turn well when airborne. Many trips would end with a quick run to the emergency ward at the Hudson Valley Hospital.
