Aidan June 19, 2013 at 09:24 am
Where are the anti-machete people?
Sage on the Hudson June 19, 2013 at 10:44 am
And the arrested man's name IS...? C'mon, Ashley, it's the FIRST of the journalist's fiveRead More "w"s: WHO.
Aidan June 19, 2013 at 09:23 am
Hey, Genius ... these are inanimate objects. They have no motives, no motor skills and no cognitiveRead More capacity. They cannot act on their own. Guns are NOT designed solely to kill. They're used for sport and all sorts of recreation. Danger is a part of life whether you're walking, skiing, driving or swimming. People kill with hammers, clubs and rope ... are those objects responsible? Kids perish in pools and fall from trees ... are those objects at fault? It's all about human motive and human choice. If you don't like guns, don't buy one. If they frighten you, stay away. Just don't impose your phobias on others. There's your logic.

To Jay - check your facts. 2011 - 12,664 homicides, 8583 by firearms, 1694 by knives or cuttingRead More instruments, 496 by blunt objects. http://www.fbi.gov/about-us/cjis/ucr/crime-in-the-u.s/2011/crime-in-the-u.s.-2011/tables/expanded-homicide-data-table-8
Rose Rowland June 19, 2013 at 11:05 am
Guns don't kill people. People kill people. With guns.
Ded Yorick June 13, 2013 at 02:29 pm
Bottom half of dude's face seems darker than top half as if he covered the top of his head whileRead More sunbathing. Or it could just be the junk. That stuff will make a mess out of you. Cool 'stache, though. I think they call that the 270 in the joint.
LJ June 12, 2013 at 07:52 am
Well that was fun while it lasted ...LOL ...
michael June 12, 2013 at 07:59 am
Good for city, other businesses have to comply and do things legally why not these new budinesses?Read More And as far as not hiring state certified employees it sounds like el sabor was trying to get around the law. Interesting...
sharkattack666 June 13, 2013 at 08:46 am
ok the Article does not state what the code violations were, and knowing these establishments itRead More could be many, however Sgt.Mignini does not have the authority to close a business down based on an allegation of a city code violation. He also closed down Reubens that night. Is this guy Judge Dredd? Well Tumelo did nothing to stop this guy from being a douc...g I hope the new Chief puts a stop to his KGB style of policing. You should see him and Vazeos go after Taxis it's insane!
sharkattack666 June 13, 2013 at 09:03 am
we fight a war in afghanistan to ensure safe growing and production of opiates.
Jack Sabel June 17, 2013 at 10:32 am
Can some one please explain to me that how after a 14 month investigation, and being caught redRead More handed, that this man is walking the streets as of yesterday? I did a double take when I saw him. Something smells fishy, it might be a rat!
sharkattack666 June 19, 2013 at 05:39 am
@litman?prisoner vehicle?wtf are you talking about,I ask,and 4-5 arrests each day for drugs?thisRead More would be all over the lame ass news 12 or the westchester news paper.Yes the police are doing there best to keep drugs off the streets,it's just not a peekskill only problem and the local new people and outsiders make it worse then what it is.remember peekskill in 1985?it's a whole new city now.
joshua tanner June 8, 2013 at 10:57 am
The term "overabundance" of caution is silly. If they suspect one person they should focusRead More on that person instead of having everyone else jumping through hoops out of "overabundance of caution". It seems to me there is an overabundance of fear and an underabundance of focus on the suspect
Rose Rowland June 8, 2013 at 01:50 pm
That seems pretty straightforward.
Coach Girl 1971 June 9, 2013 at 10:57 pm
I am so surprised that the incident was even reported to the police, since kids at the high schoolRead More are assaulted everyday, and they never notify the police. Its usually parents like me that get the police involved. I have showed the admin at the high school multiple threats against my child on social media, and i have also shared them with the Peekskill police, and they did nothing. I guess they have to keep only the kids that are graduating safe, since the number gets smaller and smaller each year. So now i know what you have to do to actually get expelled from the high school. The threat of one or two kids getting hurt isnt big enough press for them. The district is so disgusting and crooked and thats exactly why the super is leaving, how long did he last again, a little over a year, what a joke. NYS DEPT OF ED, where are you and when are you going to come in and take over this district???
leesther brown June 11, 2013 at 01:51 pm
@Ian..You are exactly right..and there should be a choice.. As far as having the Graduation in theRead More Paramount..Good move! I enjoyed walking up to the Graduations, and standing watching them from the grounds, but over the years it became..a bit too much...giving the sign of the times...anything may jump off...Congratulations Class Of 2013..
leesther brown June 11, 2013 at 02:03 pm
@Kirsten, Didn't you have to "Troll" to respond?!!!
Ashley Elam June 13, 2013 at 01:55 pm
@elisabeth, since 2002 they've wanted to move it to the Paramount.
sayitsnotsojack June 8, 2013 at 02:32 pm
So every time a 16yr old "can not take it anymore" it is fine with you for them to attemptRead More to murder someone? You better be good because you might end up stabbed to death or just stay away from 16yr olds.
Emilia June 8, 2013 at 05:17 pm
WOW! Did hell freeze over? I think sayitsnotsojack actually placed some of the blame for kids'Read More failures on parents, instead of all on the schools and unions. What next? He might actually realize that lack of parental involvement in a student's education and discipline are prime factors contributing to low test scores.
sayitsnotsojack June 9, 2013 at 09:28 pm
Emilia I long ago started to blame the parents first, but schools and unions come second.
Shaun McGuire June 7, 2013 at 11:52 am
How can you not be judgmental when the people in question are in possession of crack AND CALL THERead More POLICE?!
Leslie Masson June 7, 2013 at 12:11 pm
But Michael's comment was not just directed at that woman, it was directed at all folks who live inRead More public housing.
gerald June 7, 2013 at 05:02 pm
As Leslie says, lets not be judgmental, this guy was 73 years old well into the concept of knowingRead More better as well as knowing how to choose friends. On the other hand what was she doing at 2:30 in the morning and being asked to leave his apartment. We have to change attitudes and behaviors, or at lest help help them to do so.
Mike May 30, 2013 at 04:52 pm
Please, this is such a waste of our time. Ever since the new patch layout came up, the CONTENT ofRead More the articles has suffered severely. I think you would be better off just copying stories from a mainstream news outlet. This site is almost as bad as news12....
Danny C May 31, 2013 at 08:59 am
Gotta love the negativity. Such a waste of time, yet you're reading it! LOL - Bordedom strikesRead More again.
michael June 1, 2013 at 07:04 pm
Well whether or not you think the information is trivial, it is news and the public eats thisRead More reporting up. Woman hit by car in parking lot doesn't happen every day. Plus if you want really mouth watering news, watch the NYC stations. There's plenty of sensationalism death, rape, gay bashing. I'm thankful this isn't reported in our are.
Ded Yorick May 29, 2013 at 07:22 am
"I saw Neftali today at the reception In his glass was a bleeding man He was practiced at theRead More art of deception Well I could tell by his blood-stained hands"
Shar May 29, 2013 at 08:15 am
Uh O, it's the end of the month, I have to get my quota in.
sayitsnotsojack May 29, 2013 at 11:27 am
It should be the end of the month every day, the amount of speeding and reckless driving takingRead More place puts all of us at great risk. Only through continuous crack downs like this will people finally start to drive in a civil say.
Mike Rodriques May 30, 2013 at 08:02 am
The thing that cracks me up is that the troopers announce what they're going to do, and when they'reRead More going to do it, and some boneheads still manage to get caught...

Verplank needs more cleaning up than this... how come the FBI isn't stationed on broadway yet?
Fly on the Wall May 24, 2013 at 11:45 pm
Because.... because their afraid.
Shar May 29, 2013 at 11:36 am
WOW, Verplank use to be a quiet little town with Irish and Italian decedents....What happened?
shedoyle May 22, 2013 at 09:50 am
maybe the grocery store is not the best place for you....
Alfred Newman May 28, 2013 at 07:27 pm
STAY OUT OF THE hood white boy.
sharkattack666 May 31, 2013 at 01:11 pm
newman you racist dick this is not even close to being the hood! Volunteer firemen always act likeRead More they are cops I wish they would get pulled over when they rush up behind you with there illegal cop lights!
NoisyNeighbor May 18, 2013 at 12:18 pm
I agree - everything is so inexpensive there and they give good deals. I was actually at theRead More register late one evening a family with kids was waiting for the rest of the family to check out. The family waiting had the audacity to take mechandise from the rack and bag men's sports clothes while no one was watching. Right in front of young kids. Really messed up!
richie May 18, 2013 at 12:35 pm
I know for a fact that the security guy in khols bedford hills steals merchandise himself. SomeoneRead More should look into that.
Jay May 20, 2013 at 09:26 pm
Danny has a point about collecting money..but here's one I cant stand. I once parked right outsideRead More Old Navy in Cortlandt town center - and AS SOON as I got out my driver's side this guy, 17-21 comes asking me for money for some charity or donation. Now if my instincts kicked in and I almost went on him physically. You DO NOT run up on someone coming out of their car like that, asking for money. Of course had the nerve to act aggravated when I didn't give him anything. You dont that in a parking lot. Ever.
Plamena Pesheva (Editor) May 16, 2013 at 12:41 pm
Lakeland Central School District staff said they received a report that someone had spotted the bearRead More near Wildwood court/entrance to Taconic on Route 132. "We are exercising caution and keeping students indoors at [Thomas Jefferson], [Benjamin Franklin] and the middle school," Lakeland spokesperson Jim VanDevelde told Patch.
Francis T McVetty May 18, 2013 at 10:45 am
Seen at about 6:50 AM on Cherry Rd.
