Nice goatee, Pidgeon. That badge-flashing stunt might work on the rubes in Continental Village butRead More it ain't gonna fly in the land of Jan Peeck. "I am in charge at the White House" - Haig "I am in charge at the A&P" - Pidgeon

Danny has a point about collecting money..but here's one I cant stand. I once parked right outsideRead More Old Navy in Cortlandt town center - and AS SOON as I got out my driver's side this guy, 17-21 comes asking me for money for some charity or donation. Now if my instincts kicked in and I almost went on him physically. You DO NOT run up on someone coming out of their car like that, asking for money. Of course had the nerve to act aggravated when I didn't give him anything. You dont that in a parking lot. Ever.

I know for a fact that the security guy in khols bedford hills steals merchandise himself. SomeoneRead More should look into that.
NoisyNeighbor May 18, 2013 at 12:18 pm
I agree - everything is so inexpensive there and they give good deals. I was actually at theRead More register late one evening a family with kids was waiting for the rest of the family to check out. The family waiting had the audacity to take mechandise from the rack and bag men's sports clothes while no one was watching. Right in front of young kids. Really messed up!

Lakeland Central School District staff said they received a report that someone had spotted the bearRead More near Wildwood court/entrance to Taconic on Route 132. "We are exercising caution and keeping students indoors at [Thomas Jefferson], [Benjamin Franklin] and the middle school," Lakeland spokesperson Jim VanDevelde told Patch.
Bow-shooting is a popular sport.

Blue Mountain Sportsmens Center in Cortlandt has a very nice Archery range in addition to theRead More shooting ranges- hope they take advantage next time!

One in the neighbors house, one in the other neighbors yard, and the other two, they haven't a clueRead More where they went........ Why the heck aren't you at a range mom? Cmon now, a little common sense goes a long way here. Take her out in the woods or something.

Looks like a lot of fun. The difference between an arrow and a bullet from a gun is roughly a mileRead More in reach.

& what about the dirt bag boyfriend who's crime of assault is less then that of stealing, is heRead More out free ?....to mess with her home & belongings while she is locked up without bail. Any man that hits a women should be behind bars PERMANTLY ........and she should be in counseling not jail
LJ May 11, 2013 at 09:56 pm
Why no bail ?? What ever happened to innocent till proven quilty ???
Arnie Palmer May 10, 2013 at 09:46 pm
Poor Moose. Just another reason showing why Cortlandt needs to invest in a full time police forceRead More instead of State Police and one county cop during limited hours.

Rose I have seen first hand what gun buybacks do, to put it plainly, it was a joke. All that wasRead More bought back was junk. It was a waste of money. Do you really think anyone with a decent rifle or handgun is going to bring it in for a pittance of what it's worth? The answer is no
leesther brown May 12, 2013 at 03:38 pm
@Rose,here's an idea...take them out of the patrol cars, and have them walk the through out theRead More community..especially in the downtown area, projects and get to know the residents..I don't think it's that folks don't like your ideas, but on a real tip most that would,or are known to carry guns have been jailed, where are the guns that they allegedly used in the alleged crimes are is the bigger question?!,according to the article on the latest FED bust indicates that a gun was recovered in one of the arrest, but where are the rest, are they hid by family members/friends and whats the update on the two still at large, one of which is being charged with possessing a firearm(guzman)? I applaud all efforts to get guns off the street..what I don't like is the fact the politicos(Morey and Rigger) are using this to push their BS agenda...Eric, be a Police Chief and leave the politics alone...#i'mdeterminedtohelpupseatthedems..
Rose Rowland May 12, 2013 at 01:25 pm
Okay, Ladies and Gentlemen - you are all now in charge of coming up with a local policy or actionRead More that will cut down on firearm accidents, suicides, drunken stupidity and criminal acts with guns. Since none of you seem to like our ideas and are doing everything you can to block them, come up with your own plan. Go.
Dee May 14, 2013 at 03:28 pm
Selling drugs is not a a good thing at all. But neither is using them. I think that laws need to beRead More just as strict for the drug users. They are also doing something illegal and harming themselves and their families. I truly believe drug addicts are a bigger issue and do more damage to families than the dealers. The dealer doesn't usually seek out the druggie, the druggie usually seeks out the the dealer.
Pecan Tan May 10, 2013 at 01:58 am
Its so many young men and women on HEROIN,PILLS..i agree get a JOB stop selling DRUGS thats not aRead More good or healthy life..
The Entertainer May 9, 2013 at 11:19 am
How many lives have these worthless slimes ruined or killed, I see more charges coming. Keep theseRead More and every dealer off our streets. The next kid may be your own! If you see something, say something!

Hahahahaha he does look like shaggy from skooby do
leen May 9, 2013 at 11:29 pm
all you people are not only rude, and uneducated, comments about anyone's illness is uncalledRead More for!!!! yes the crime was foolish, but your comments are 100,000 times more foolish, but then again your mental capacity probably will not even understand this comment is about you, and as for the fact that he had taken cigs,is because all you grubs in peekskill "got a cig" he had a set and tried to get his own. NOT A BEGGER

Charlie truly followed the tradition of " No One Left Behind " and joined the otherRead More great responders trying to rescue or locate others at the World Ttrade Center.and he put his life on the line for his country in the military and in his profession. . The Captain Oliver C. Chase , Jr. Post 274 of the American Legion in Peekskill will honor Charlie tonight and during the Memorial Day Services at Peekskill along with many other veterans from the area and we will .keep his deeds known at our post forever. Also many of our Post members who served in Law Enforcement while Charlie was active including myself will seek to see that a proper recognition is given to our comrade throughout the community. Tthe local police department and the other first responders who serve in Peekskill all earn our respect daily for placing themselves In Harms Way every day and Charlie would be the first to endorse that position and has done so by his example.. We urge all to join Charlie and show the respect that he and his comrades earn daily. John Donohue Post Commander

When I was sick Charlie picked me up out the gutter and brought me to Yonkers General Hospital forRead More help. Unfortunately, I wasn't ready to help myself. That is only one example of some of the many great things Charlie did for others. My respect for this man is deep, and my prayers for his family, may God bless them now and always.

Its sad to see Allison go through this. I had her as a student and appreciated how she trulyRead More invested and dedicated herself to the education of students and to reach those who were struggling or not doing well for various reasons. I only hope she is vindicated. If she is not, then she will deal with the consequences. For those that keep barking out about unions...perhaps you could have used a teacher like her so you could actually form a thought and come up with an argument that is actually part of or integral to the topic at hand. Seriously, come up with something new or better. As far as feeling bad for the students and that now they will have to do the work. If she did change grades maybe if they did the work to begin with they wouldn't have needed a change. In regard to the school district, to say they are putting her through this or by making the notion about the involvement of the district attorney's office, perhaps...and note the word perhaps as I'm not knowledgable about such issues, they had no choice and that is a requirement for such instances. Some of you would bode well by using such vocabulary or placing such things as "in my opinion." In most jobs changing information on records or performing work for someone taking a test is illegal and/or fraud. Which are crimes.
Judy Lohbauer May 3, 2013 at 07:23 pm
What an absoulte disgrace to the Peekskill City School District, that they are putting a wonderfulRead More valued and (local) techer thru all of this mess. She has the best charecter of anyone person that I know. Having her for a friend and neighbor is a pleasure and she would never have done these things that they are accusing her of. She is a class act, they obviosly do not know their own teachers nor do they care too. All they care about is smearing their own people in public, how sad. And gee, they dont even live in our community (many new people in this school from out of the area, including the new Principal!) And our school board is another mess, some local people involved in that nightmere too or as they put it this is just a formality in charing Alison, how disgusting. Well, I guess they just get off on ruining lives, how sad! And this is our town, what a joke...

I never understood paying a superintendent 225k and then paying 200k for all the assistants likeRead More Assistant Superintendent for Business (Greg Sullivan) and Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum (Joseph Mosey). Seems like on job is spread out at great cost. If assistance is needed there are no schmucks that can do ti for a measly 100K? Why do assistants make more than the governor of New York (179k)?
anonymiss April 26, 2013 at 02:05 pm
what the heck are you talking about? you've never heard of a RX take back program? they have them inRead More every town, every police dept, and most pharmacies. and in almost every state too.

Damn, Dino, what the hell? When you were first busted, I thought they were unfairly targeting youRead More since you lived an alternative lifestyle in the campground but now I'm not so sure. I tried to give you the benefit of the doubt, man, but you betrayed me. Still, I'll always have fond memories of ShadFest at Croton Point.
sharkattack666 April 25, 2013 at 07:37 am
not so obvious to the public, Mr.Curry was not hiding out.He just got out of the slammer a fewRead More months ago.Seems like these agency's are too busy at parades and dinner functions then doing the job the right way.Normally when you are released from lock up if you have a parole hold thats who you are released too.So while everyone is worried about getting guns away from innocent people, our system is letting criminals roam the streets.

Marshall (two "l"s) = proper name. Marshal (one "l") = A ministerial officerRead More appointed for a judicial district to execute the process of the courts and perform various duties similar to those of a sheriff (2) : a city law officer entrusted with particular duties.
