This has been going on for years. 3 years ago we signed a service contract, the interaction after…Read More signing the contract was suspicious. We asked for our money back and we never received it.
The current and former employees should be interviewed. I'm sure they have a story to tell.

I suppose the company should really be called NO Way Fuel.

I call it the Big Company disease: Layoffs are regular and nearly constant. Some due to technology,…Read More some due to NY State costs, and some due to offshoring.
Reminds us why incenting growth of smaller and medium size companies is so important for US employment. Wish the President would pay attention to the right things, and re-think tax policy.

I.B.M. is the largest private employer in three counties:Ulster Dutchess and Westchester in their…Read More defense they have given many families for many years valuable employment and oppotunities. Through my Dad's employment he had two overseas assignments Paris , France with only 6 months technical school and worked amongst teams of people from Ivy Leagues Colleges. He worked very closely with Japan and Germany as a WW2 Vet no less.
Certainly times have changed with every industry look at GM and the whole banking field. It is the wave of the times unfortunately.
Said Business Council of Westchester President Marsha Gordon, who in the 1990s experienced IBM’s downsizing while leading the Greater Southern Dutchess County Chamber of Commerce. “Westchester County in particular, because we’re such a big county, is well-positioned to absorb these people.”
Oh sure Marsha you really know what you are talking about where Cosco ,Home Depot or Raymore and Flanigan maybe?

ok the Article does not state what the code violations were, and knowing these establishments it…Read More could be many, however Sgt.Mignini does not have the authority to close a business down based on an allegation of a city code violation. He also closed down Reubens that night. Is this guy Judge Dredd? Well Tumelo did nothing to stop this guy from being a douc...g I hope the new Chief puts a stop to his KGB style of policing. You should see him and Vazeos go after Taxis it's insane!

The people living in the area ARE asking for a Whole foods, Trader Joe's and/or Mrs. Green. It's…Read More mentioned frequently. The Circuit City building and parking was ideal and what do we get? Big Lot! The dollar tree store is just down the street.
sharkattack666 June 19, 2013 at 05:57 am
@janet rella, the dollar tree is just down the street?it doesn't have furniture does it?no,ahem and…Read More etc.... Whole foods I like yet did you open your eyes and notice there is a Shop-rite practically in the same parking lot,and you think people in this area will want to pay wholefoods prices?no way,its not feasible for wholefoods, yes"demographics"Mrs.greens is not a supermarket its an overpriced vitamin store, you want one here for who?there's a gnc at the beach that is barely alive.I know 2 businesses that this area desperately needs a Topless Bar(or all nude w/no booze)or a white castle.

Rita's Ices are righteous. I've had them in Philly and Atlantic City and they are the best in the…Read More country (well, at least the best in Philly and A.C.). I'll be at the grand opening. You should be, too.

To Gail Brenneis Fenty: I am holding almost $250 worth of Paramount tickets that I was instructed by…Read More the previous management to hold on to.
I contacted Kurt Heitmann, who is one of the principals of Red House Entertainment, to ask if they would give me credit for my tickets. this was his reply: "we can honor your tickets. You can come to any show we have that is not sold out and on a first come first serve basis grab a seat. There will be a $5.00 service fee per ticket. Hope that helps."
What that means to me is this: I can not exchange my premium, fourth row, on the aisle tickets at the Paramount box office for a future show's comparably priced seats of my choice. And I should just "show up" on the night of a show that is hopefully not sold-out, and exchange my premium, fourth row, on the aisle tickets, plus an additional $5.00 per ticket, for whatever seats are available. Seats that may very well not be together, seats that may possibly have an obscured view.
I am not happy about this. I was a contributing patron of the Paramount in the past, but don't think I will be in the future if this is the way they intend to treat their supporters.
C. Anderson May 20, 2013 at 04:22 pm
Chuck, give them time, they still haven't figured out what they are doing yet. You must remember…Read More they are a bunch of audio engineers with no experience in the arena they are in now. But look, at least we will get to see the Sisters of Graymore! Don't use up all your first come first serve seats at this one.
Do you really think someone like Mary Foster who is the smartest person in Peekskill would make a bad decision? Of course not, just ask the brain trust on the Common Council and the BID.
Chuck Park May 21, 2013 at 02:57 pm
To C. Anderson: Doesn't look like they needed any time to think about the reply I got. In effect,…Read More they told me my pair of $234.50 tickets are just this side of worthless, and my history of being a contributing patron means nothing.
II'm willing to bet that there are many more people, like me, who were told to hang onto their tickets. They will be in for a rude awakening when they go to the box office to try to exchange them.

I'm not against nuclear power but I don't like location of Indian Point, and I don't trust the plant…Read More to be run well after an Al Qeada member was found working in a nuke plant. Al Qaeda put out an order for members to join power plants, and US society is so dysfunctionally PC they would have an easy time of it.
I also think any plant near a big city like NY should be run by the military (many nuclear plant workers come from the military anyway). In Fukushima disaster many workers stayed (called the Fukushima 50) many hours in the plant facing of possible death. I don't know if modern Americans have that kind of commitment , and could see a plant being deserted in a real crisis.

Boycott Peekskill Brewery until they pay ALL of the trades, in full, the money they are due for a…Read More job well done!

Well White Plains gained almost 5000 Hispanics (who now account for 17,000 people in a city of…Read More 57,000) in ten years, and we know many of them are there against the law and plunder services. Its no wonder the hospital is up a creek. "Expense upticks and shrinking income" indeed. Articles about these matters always hide the main fact behind euphemisms .

JM May 8, 2013 at 12:18 pm
If my memory serves, this was the group who mentioned how important it is to get the word out -- not…Read More operate in a silo but tell the world what is up in Peekskill.
Rehashing what is done, expressing dislike for the admin, in no way moves us forward.
I too am looking for ways to connect with these folks and lend support to help them succeed. The Paramount's FB page and website haven't been touched since Oct. so hopefully they'll get that moving so we can see and learn more.
shakemdown May 8, 2013 at 07:55 pm
that was a smoke screen, to get the other bidders to think he didn't like the admin. while working…Read More with them the whole time, how do you think he won the winning bid, it wasn't by luck
shakemdown May 8, 2013 at 03:47 am
i give it two to three years and it will shut down again, and to reply to patrick D, yeah the price…Read More will go up , remember that bottle of beer that they got for 60 cents and sold to you for $8.00 well that beer will now cost you $10.00 and that's only the beginning.
John Murray May 8, 2013 at 01:39 pm
Looking forward to catching some good acts there again in the near future. Be good to see an…Read More expanded beer selection to go along with those good acts too!

Looking forward to another great season!! Controversies aside, this stadium is far and away one of…Read More the best things to happen in Rockland in a long, long time. Go check it out - a great time for any age, at a reasonable price, in a beautiful facility! I hope they have the summer concerts again too!
