The Lincoln Depot Museum, completed in 2013, commemorates Abraham Lincoln's 1861 visit to Peekskill on his inaugural journey from Springfield to Washington D.C. The museum explores the connections that today's Peekskill community has with Lincoln and the Hudson River Valley of the 1860s. The museum regularly hosts exhibits, events, lectures and educational initiatives, and features a life-size "Lincoln in Peekskill" statue. The museum is built at the location of the actual train depot Lincoln stopped at in 1861.
