Indian Point Nuclear Energy Center has three nuclear reactors that are owned and operated by Entergy, LLC.
Indian Point #1 was the first commercial reactor in the world to receive a construction permit. On line in 1962, it was retired in 1974. Indian Point units # 2 & #3 went into operation in 1974 and 1976, respectively and have since produced over 250 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity.
