Astorino Wishes New Peekskill Bakery Sweet Success

While in Peekskill last Thursday I stopped by the Bake Me a Wish bakery to taste their treats and to wish owners Maria and Pablo Morales the best of luck in their new business endeavor.

While in Peekskill last Thursday I stopped by the Bake Me a Wish bakery at 630 Washington St. to taste their treats and to wish the owners the best of luck in their new business endeavor.

Maria and Pablo Morales, who live in Peekskill with their four year-old daughter, opened their bake shop just two months ago.

It’s a good location and a great place to stop before or after work to pick up a hot cup of coffee and a freshly baked muffin, cookie, or cupcake.

I admire entrepreneurs like Mr. and Mrs. Morales.  Running a small business is hard work. And there is no guarantee of success.

Fostering economic growth is a top priority for us in county government.  We have done this by reducing taxes, cutting spending and offering support and resources to small businesses. There are approximately 31,500 small businesses (meaning they have 499 or fewer employees) in Westchester County.

If you’re interested in starting or growing your own small business, don’t hesitate to call the county’s Office of Economic Development at (914) 995-2963.  They’ll give you information about financial assistance and other business resources.

Don’t forget to support your local businesses and stop by Bake Me a Wish – tell them Rob Astorino sent you.

Good Luck to the Morales. Please support small businesses in the area. As an owner myself, my first choice is looking into local commerce for my business and personal purchases.

I spent a wonderful workday at Bake a Wish Bakery today! My power at home was turned off for electrical repairs and I needed to find somewhere local to work. I was happy to know that the bakery had Wifi. I found my niche and hooked up my computer and set to work. The ambiance is nice and I had all I needed for the day in one place. Maria and staff were perfect hosts. I had breakfast, coffee and lunch. At the end of the day left with some dessert goodies. It was pleasant to watch the steady flow of customers. Two customers, who came at different times, shared that the establishment used to be a bakery years ago! It brought back good memories for them. So, if there are any Peekskillians that may have photos of the establishment when it was a bakery years ago please stop by and share with Maria and Pablo. Thanks Maria and Pablo, will see you again soon!
