This Weekend: Pink Hair, $5 Spirit Tasting in Peekskill, 5K in Cortlandt

There are tons of ways to keep busy around Cortlandt and Peekskill this weekend, and we're here to help you decide which happenings are for you.

Pink Hair for Hope
When: 7 p.m. Friday
Where: The Winery at St. George at 1715 East Main Street in Mohegan Lake
Why go? Michele Lisa Salon of Cortlandt Manor is hosting this breast cancer awareness fundraiser for the third year. Pink hair extensions will be available for $10, and all proceeds go to Pink Hair for Hope. There will be complimentary hors d'oeuvres and champagne, too.

Spirit Tasting on the Yellow Brick Road
When: 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday
Where: Dylan's Wine Cellar at 50 Hudson Avenue in PeekskillWhy go? For $5 you can sample you can bourbons, whiskeys, vodkas and more at 10 different spirit tables. There will be wine, along with food from Taormina's Restaurant. John Hahn of Peekskill will provide live music.

Town of Cortlandt 5K Race
When: 9:30 a.m. Saturday
Where: Cortlandt waterfront (Riverview Avenue and Broadway in Verplanck)Why go? It's the first annual Town of Cortlandt 5K, so come out and help make this a great event for years to come. Participants will receive T-shirts and awards will be handed out to the top finishers.
