Italian Festival in Peekskill; Zydeco Music in Verplanck

There are tons of ways to keep busy around Cortlandt and Peekskill this weekend, and we're here to help you decide which happenings are for you.

Here are the details for three great events (click on the links for more information). Scroll down to the end of this article for information on a few more.

Authentic Louisiana Zydeco Music
When? 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday (Aug. 18)
Where? The Red Schoolhouse, 220 6th Street in Verplanck
Why go? How often do you get to hear this type of live music—a mix of blues and rhythm and blues with a heavy dose of Cajun—locally? Musician Jeffery Broussard will mix in some R&B, too. Dance lessons are available for those who come early (5:30).
