The First Military Order of the Purple Heart Parade

When? 1 p.m. Saturday (Aug. 10)
Where? Highland Avenue and Orchard Street in Peekskill
Why go? Come out and show your support for recipients of the award, who will be honored at the event. The parade will kick off at the above location after a ceremony at Monument Park. The Purple Heart is reserved for military members who have been hurt or killed in action.

Peekskill Lions Club Emergency Information Kit Fundraiser
When? 8 a.m. Saturday (Aug. 10)
Where? Peekskill Farmers Market on Bank Street
Why go? The Lions Club is selling kits that will come in handy during an emergency. It acts as a place to store important contact information.
