There are tons of ways to keep busy around Cortlandt and Peekskill this weekend, and we're here to help you decide which happenings are for you.

Buchanan Family Fun Day
When: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 28)
Where: Buchanan Pavillion (Westchester Avenue in Buchanan)
Why go? There will be something for everyone at this event: birds of prey, live music, lots of food, pumpkin-painting and much more.

Community Swap Event & Furniture Drive
When: 9 a.m. Saturday (Sept. 28)
Where: Muriel H. Morabito Community Center (29 Westbrooke Drive in Cortlandt Manor)
Why go? All items—CDs, DVDs, pet supplies, sporting goods and more—are free at this event, which allows local folks to trade their old personal belongings for new ones. There won't be any clothing. Items should be clean, reusable and portable. In addition to the swap, residents may donate pieces of furniture that are basic and in good condition for needy families in the area.

Hendrix 70: Live at Woodstock
When: 8 p.m. Friday (Sept. 27)
Where: Paramount Hudson Valley (1008 Brown Street in Peekskill)
Why go? If you're a big fan of the electric guitar, you'll want to attend so you can see Jimi Hendrix's famous August 1969 Woodstock performance—think Fire, Purple Haze, Foxey Lady and his version of the Star Spangled Banner—on the big screen, complete surround sound. The event also features a documentary includes interviews with band members.
