The week kicks off with great weather today—sunny skies and a high of about 72 degrees. Tomorrow will see warmer temperatures, plus clouds and possible precipitation in the morning, according to the National Weather Service forecast. By afternoon the sun may break through. Wednesday and Thursday will likely see showers and thunderstorms. Expect partly sunny skies and a pleasant 70-degree high Friday.

In the schools: Modified sports begin in Peekskill today; it's picture time for underclassmen at Walter Panas High School Wednesday and there's a Hendrick Hudson district-wide safety meeting Thursday afternoon.

City of Peekskill happenings this week include a Common Council meeting tonight and a Peekskill Industrial Development Agency meeting Tuesday. On Thursday there will be an Ethics Board meeting and a Conservation Advisory Council meeting. Find the agendas here. In Cortlandt the town board will gather for a work session tonight.
