What's Closed for MLK, Jr. Day; Peekskill's 75th Anniversary; Early Dismissal

Monday
Banks, government offices, libraries and schools will be closed in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. The Peekskill Area Pastors Association is hosting an event at 3 p.m. Monday at the Peekskill Middle School. An interfaith youth choir is slated to perform, and Rabbi Lee S. Paskind, association president, will speak. Admission is free.

Tuesday
The Peekskill Common Council will gather at 7 p.m. for a committee of the whole meeting. On the agenda: updates from the building and planning departments; the city's 75th anniversary; a presentation from auditors and more. There's a Peekskill City Schools Board of Education meeting at 7 p.m.


Wednesday
There is a Hendrick Hudson Central Schools Board of Education meeting at 7:30 p.m.


Thursday
Lakeland and Walter Panas High Schools will dismiss early today at 1 p.m.


Friday

Weather
Monday and Tuesday look cloudy, with highs of about 41 and 22 degrees, respectively, according to the National Weather Service. Forecasts are calling for sunny skies Wednesday, with temperatures peaking around 18-degrees. Thursday should be cloudy with a high around 24-degrees, and Friday mostly sunny, with similar temperatures.
