Step back in time as you walk through Victorian homes that date back to the late 1800's as a part of the 2nd Annual this May 6. The tour will benefit Relay For Life, the American Cancer Society's signature event.
Participants will get an up-close view of the following historic homes:
- An 1879 Grand Victorian
- The 1895 Victorian Home & Office of Dr. Rich (Yorktown's “town doctor”)
- An 1890's Victorian Cottage
- Captain Underhill's Estate c. 1880
The tour also includes a luncheon catered by local Rob DelBalzo's Nuttin' To It held on the beautiful grounds of the Captain Underhill Estate (now known as the Soundview Preparatory School). The event is sponsored by Douglas Dill, Houlihan Lawrence Yorktown Brokerage, and The Sisterhood Reform Temple of Putnam Valley. All proceeds will go to Relay For Life of Yorktown.
The event is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on May 6. Tickets are $50 per person and $25 for children 16 and under. Relay For Life of Yorktown is an event that will be held June 8, 2012 at Jack Devito Field from 7 pm until 7 am.
Yorktown's Relay For Life team has been incredibly successful in the seven years it has been campaigning for "more people who are diagnosed with cancer to continue to celebrate birthdays for years to come." Last year they raised almost $300,000. The money collected from Yorktown’s event ranked No. 1 in the New York City, Long Island and Westchester County metro area; No. 2 in New York State and No. 3 in the entire division comprising New York State and New Jersey.
