On Dec. 8, the group of local girl scouts spent four hours turning the donated toys into wrapped treasures for the event that took place on Dec. 17 at the center.

“I am so proud of them,” said Karasinski. “The girls did such a great job and were so happy to be making a difference in other children’s lives.” Not only did the group wrap all three hundred gifts, but also came prepared with supplies—paper and tape that they had collected.

Mary Rainey, the director of the Peekskill Community Action Program said the girls did a beautiful job. “Their enthusiasm was amazing and so enlightening,” she said.
