Pink Hair for Cancer Center at Cutting Edge Hair Salon

Cutting Edge Hair Salon Raises Funds for New Cancer Center During Breast Cancer Awareness Month

From the Hudson Valley Hospital Center: When Debi Pacia Pascale had a breast cancer scare in September, Hudson Valley Hospital Center was able to give her peace of mind with quick test results and compassionate care during her mammogram.

The following month, Debi decided to return the favor. She and her staff at The Cutting Edge Hair and Nail Salon in Cortlandt Manor raised more than $900 during Breast Cancer Awareness Month to support the Hospital’s new Comprehensive Cancer Care Center.

“I was really impressed with how caring the staff was during my scare and how they were able to get me in so quickly and get my results within 45 minutes,’’ she said. “I was so grateful that they were able to tell me even before I left the building that everything was going to be alright.”

Debi said the salon raised the funds by selling pink hair extensions that were donated by one of her staff members, Neil Rosoff, formerly of Dana Cole Salon. The staff also held a raffle for $100 gift certificate to the salon.

William C. Dauster, Executive Director of the Foundation of HVHC, said that the Hospital was grateful for the donation. The Hospital recently launched a fundraising campaign to raise $5 million to offset the cost of the new Comprehensive Cancer Care Center, which is opening on November 17.

“The opening of this new Comprehensive Cancer Center proves that people do not have to go into New York City to get the quality of care they need,’’ said Dauster. “We could not have accomplished this without the support of the community. We thank all our donors large and small for their commitment to this cause.’’
