Hudson Valley Hospital Center Chaplains Offer Ashes to Patients and Staff

Patients received ashes from volunteer chaplains.

The following was provided by the Hudson Valley Hospital Center:  Observing religious traditions can be difficult when you’re stuck in a hospital bed. But through Hudson Valley Hospital Center’s Chaplains program, patients’ spiritual needs can be met despite being away from home.

On Ash Wednesday, volunteer chaplains and local clergy were available in the HVHC chapel from 11:30 to 1:30 p.m. and from 3- 4 p.m. to distribute ashes to patients and staff as part of the start of the Lenten season.
