Peekskill Dems Continue 'Do As We Say, Not As We Do' Conduct

At the City Council Meeting held this Tuesday, October 11th, Mayor Mary Foster and Councilwoman Drew Claxton said that they had filmed their last TV show, one of many that are broadcast on the Local Government TV stations. 

The Foster Administration has been pressed on this issue a number of times recently and their response when pressed again at the aforementioned meeting was another example of this Administration’s actions running contrary to their words. 

The issue is not about when TV shows are filmed. The issue is how the Government channel is being manipulated to serve the Foster Administration’s political purposes…the issue is that Mayor Mary Foster controls the content shown on the Government Station and she is still airing herself, during a campaign, close to the election, at taxpayer expense, exploiting the power of incumbency. 

Now this might not be so egregious except for the fact that in doing so, Mayor Foster is acting in a manner that is contrary to what she herself said was proper in the past. Prior administrations made a point to stop airing their shows on Government TV outlets in early September during an election season.

Yet, Mayor Foster’s shows have continued to be aired even as late as immediately prior to the City Council Meeting held just last night. The airing of this and other shows so late in the political season is not an oversight.  It is abuse of power and we call on the Mayor to do now as she said she would do weeks ago…stop airing her self-promotional TV shows on the Government Channel.
