2nd Annual KFM Halloween Masquerade hopeful for a sellout!

The Kathleen F. Marks Memorial Foundation is a local charity whose mission is to fundraise for cancer research and for cancer patients in financial need. Our mission is to host fundraising events to benefit areas of cancer research that are in need of funding. Kathleen Marks was an amazing and inspiring woman; she was selfless and kind, smart and fun. Spending most of her life selflessly caring for others, her family, friends, and her community at the church where she volunteered her time many years in countless projects. She lost her four year fight with cervical cancer in October of 2001.

The foundation was created in her memory, established just two years ago in July of 2011, by Kathleen’s eldest daughters: Crystal Schwer, President & Isis Kline, Vice President. The annual Halloween Masquerade Ball is a very important event for the foundation. Halloween was Kathleen’s favorite holiday, and October is the 11th anniversary of 12 years since her passing. This event is the perfect way to pay tribute to an exceptional woman who was taken too soon.

The first annual Masquerade Ball set the bar high for drama, elegance and an overall unique experience including entertainment such as fire dancers greeting guests as they entered the venue, aerial performances in the ballroom, ballroom dance performances, ballet solo and jugglers. The success of last year’s masquerade has given promise to an even larger and more extravagant affair the second time around.

The formal masquerade will take place at The Mansion at Colonial Terrace in Cortlandt Manor, NY on the evening of October 25th 2013.  The event will start at 6:30pm and continue until midnight. Dinner, ballroom dance performances and group lead dancing provided by Fred Astaire Dance Studio of Dutchess, an aerial show and silent auction are just a few of the items in the night’s agenda. Promising an unforgettable experience with lots of excitement and surprises, 100% of the proceeds from the event will benefit Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center division of angiogenesis research.

Tickets will be available online through the foundation website www.KFMFoundation.Org until October 18th. The ticket sales for this year surpassed last year’s attendance in the first 2 weeks of their availability, and event sellout is possible.
