The Hendrick Hudson High School football program held a free football clinic for 4th, 5th, and 6th graders March 10 at the school's dome and gymnasium.

There were a couple of very important reasons why the Sailors held the clinic, according to Hen Hud football coach Mike Lynch.

"We wanted to establish again the connection with the community," Lynch said. "We wanted to give our kids a chance to interact with our varsity players and try to build the program from the youth level, that's where it starts. We wanted the youth to feel like they are a part of what we are doing here at Hen Hud."

Lynch, as he looked at the youngsters working with his players in the final hour of the three-hour clinic, felt good about what had transpired during it with 40 kids participating.

"It's a great turnout, the kids are having fun," Lynch said. "Our guys are enjoying interacting with them as well. There's a lot of good things coming out of today and hopefully this will help us build for the spring and summer, where we will be doing a couple of more things in terms of camps with the youth in the community."
