Peekskill Hot Shots: Peekskill-Cortlandt Daily Sports Digest March 6

Welcome to Patch's daily snapshot of sports in Peekskill and Cortlandt.

Hot-Shot Program

We thank Peekskill senior recreation leader Ray Glashoff for the below submission:

There were 28 boys and girls in the Hot Shot Program, 32 in the 1st grade clinic and 26 in the 2nd grade clinic. 

Each program ran on Saturday Mornings at Hillcrest Elementary School for 7 weeks. It started on January 7 and the last session was on March 3.

Each participant received a basketball and certificate. The Hot Shots ran from 9:00 to 10:15 am. The 1st grade clinic was from 10:30 to 11:45 and the 2nd grade clinic went from 11:45 to 1:00 pm.

Women's Softball

Kirby Wright (Hendrick Hudson '08) is a catcher for the University of Nebraska Cornhuskers softball squad.

While at Hen Hud, Wright was named a three-time third-team Class A all-state selection in the state’s second-largest class by the New York Sportswriters Association.
