This is the first year for s ice-hockey squad playing in Section 1.

One of those players who has enjoyed that opportunity for the Sailors is senior defenseman Matthew Solnick.

Panas falls to Putnam Valley

Zac Preuss tallied a game-high 30 points and Vaughn Dweck registered 10 points for the Walter Panas boys basketball squad in its 69-64 loss to visiting Putnam Valley Dec. 12.

Peekskill recreation adult volleyball

The below was submitted by Peekskill senior recreation leader Ray Glashoff:

The Peekskill Recreation Adult Volleyball League concluded in early December crowning the champions in the Men’s, Womens’s and Co-ed leagues. Each winner received a Championship T-Shirt that they can proudly wear next season.

The Young Guns defeated The Rivers in 2 straight games. They are captained by Young Tran. The rest of the team roster is: Frank Spataro, Shawn Livingston, Tomek Slizowski, Sebastian Slizowski, Zee Vajulich and Dan Altro.

This Years Women’s Champion goes to the Newbies, led by their captain Jacky Rodriquez. They defeated Fuego Latino in a best of 3 series. The remaining champs are: Marta Parker, Jenn DelVecchio, Kristen McAlley, Sloane Dill, Adrea DeMichelle, Kate Kudlubowski, Jessica Ip and Debbie Paulson

The All American Chimney Sweep took the Co-ed League honors by defeating Benny Bertoline’s Team Your Mom 2 games to 1. The winners are: Kurt Pelaccio (captain and owner) Brady Townsend, Gary Zicklehopper, Shara Cooper, Gigi Kemp, Christine McAlley, Jessica Ip, Dan Altro and Frank Spataro.

In the Men’s division, there was 6 teams while in the Women’s and Co-ed leagues had 8 teams competing. The 2012 Winter Season will begin in early January.
