Local Track Stars Head to National Junior Olympics

Peekskill’s two local track clubs, the NY Starz and the Westchester Striders, competed in the highly competitive North East Regional qualifier last weekend and maintained stellar records.

The following Athletes qualified to perform in the National Junior Olympics to be held July 23 through 29 at Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland.

Chelsea Ogindo 400 and 800 meters
Brooke Sayre 1500 meter run (of Garrison)
London Claxton 1500 meter run
Nina Acevedo 1500 meter run
Syncere Claxton 3000 run

*All Striders are Peekskill residents except for Brooke Sayre, who is from Garrison
