No. 11 Hendrick Hudson (10-10) gave defending Section 1 Class C champion Bronxville a battle in the first half of the Class C title game at White Plains High School on May 30, trailing just 5-3 at halftime.

The top-seeded Broncos (19-1) though took control in the second half, giving Bronxville a 12-6 victory and their coaches, Hen Hud graduates Tim (head coach) and Todd Horgan, back to back sectional crowns.

Kevin McDermott led coach Craig Solomon's Sailors with a game-high four goals. Jake Koch and Sean Tandy tallied one goal apiece with teammate Phil Siegel adding an assist for Hen Hud.

Goalie Elliot Astor did all he could to keep the Sailors in the game, saving 19 shots.

For more on this and the other (Class A and B) championship games, see this page on MSG Varsity.

Sports Carnival

The Peekskill City School District's Athletic Department is holding its sports carnival from 12-3 p.m. on Saturday at Torpy Field.

There will also be sales of classic old-school PHS uniforms, sports equipment plus a refreshment stand at the adjacent administration building.

It's a great chance for kids to learn about new sports or enjoy the ones they love plus funds go to a great cause in the Jason Paige Wellness and Fitness Center, so if you can make it, come out.

Check out this page on the district's website for more details.
