The Purple Patch Cobras, a Yorktown Athletic Club girls softball team, will have their first game tomorrow morning. We want to wish the girls good luck out there on the field.
The Patch Cobras will be keeping us up to date on their team by posting photos, scores and other information from the games on Patch to be added to our Daily Sports Digests, published every day. We want you to update us on your child’s team too!
All you have to do is post the score, other game information and photos (if you have them) as an announcement on your local Patch. You can add your game schedule or fundraiser events to our calendar of events too. It is free and easy. Read how to do that or at the bottom of this article.
The kids on local sports teams are talented athletes and dedicated players and they deserve to be recognized on their Patch, so please help us recognize as many as possible.

The Patch Cobras are part of the Yorktown Athletic Club (YAC), a non-profit sports organization for youth that use town and school fields for games and practices.
The Cobras are in the 10U division of YAC, which is girls in fourth and fifth grades. They will play the Rattlers, sponsored by JC Screening this Saturday, April 14 at 8:30 a.m. at Chelsea Fields. The Cobras are coached by Sean Moran and Assistant Coach Matt Albano.
The other teams in the 10U division are the Pythons, sponsored by and the Copperheads, sponsored by Cicinelli & D’Ippolito, CPA’s P.C.
How to post an announcement on Patch:
Click on News, at the top of the page and select announcement. Once the announcement page loads click "Add an announcement on the right." From there you can copy and paste text into the fields provided and submit. Please remember to add a photo.
How to post an Event on Patch:
Click Event on the top of the page and then click "add an event" on the right-hand side. Photos are important here as well.
