The Knights of Columbus Peekskill Chapter held their annual Foul Shooting Contest on Tuesday January 24th at Woodside School in Peekskill. There were over 20 participants this year with 7 winners moving on to the next level of competition.

Each participant got 3 practice shots and then 15 shots that counted. Kyle Kisslinger of Cold Spring came the closest to being perfect by sinking 14 of 15 shots. Also moving on to the next level will be Niya Fields (Peekskill), Alyssa Thompson (Peekskill), Theordore Morris (Peekskill), Briana Moran (Peekskill), Lucas Curran (Croton on Hudson) and Aaron Ortero (Peekskill).
Each winner received a basketball, courtesy of Peekskill Recreation. The next level of competition will be Saturday, January 28 at in Cortlandt Manor beginning at 2 pm. The event was co-sponsored by the Peekskill Recreation Department.
Rebels track places third
Both the Lakeland/Panas boys and girls track teams placed third at the League I-A championships Jan. 20 at Rockland Community College.

SOAC spring registrations
The Shrub Oak Athletic Club is having the following dates for registrations to its spring sports seasons at the Copper Beech Middle School Cafeteria: Jan. 28 (9 a.m. to 2 p.m.) and Feb. 4 (9 a.m. to noon).
