Hoops at the county center

The best in local boys and girls basketball, from Westchester, Rockland, Putnam and southern Dutchess, will be competing at the Westchester County Center in White Plains Feb. 27-March 4 in the Section 1 semifinals and finals for the right to hoist the Gold Ball.



On the boys side at the county center from this neck of the woods, No. 2 will play No. 11 Poughkeepsie at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 29 in the Section 1 Class A semifinals.

Girls youth hoops

Cortlandt improved to 7-4 in the eighth grade division of the Tri-County Basketball League with a 47-42 triumph against New Castle Feb. 13.
