Three School Board Candidates Get Endorsement

Executive Council of Clarkstown Teachers Association endorses three including one incumbent.

Greg Montague, president of the Clarkstown Teachers Association, stated the union's executive board endorsed three candidates for the Clarkstown Board of Education. Montague said the three are: Mike Aglialoro, incumbent Phil DeGaetano and Leo Macias. The council voted on the endorsements on Wednesday afternoon

Montague said all six candidates were interviewed. The other three candidates are Wendy Adolff, Chris Conti and incumbent Donna Ehrenberg.

The school board elections and budget vote take place in less than two weeks on Tuesday, May 15. Three seats are up for election, current Board President Doug Katz is not seeking another term.

Actually, we are not debating the moral equivalence of incorrect acts. These are completely different situations. Even if the Union considered itself some sort of “secret society” (and maybe they do), then the head of that Union surely would not consider email a confidential method of communication. Cripes, that’s Internet Security 101! It’s almost Orwellian to argue that forwarding an email is somehow incorrect when the email has a link encouraging it to be forwarded and it acknowledges in its content that they know their newsletters are being forwarded. There is simply no foul here. In fact, it seems the Union leadership wanted its perceived opponents to know that they cannot effect change in this District against the Union’s interests. Given that instructional expenses are the lion's share of the school budget, this should merit attention, if not concern.

ADK, I refuse to allow you to veer off the original topic which is a list of 3 questions which you have not answered yet. I won't answer your questions until these are answered.

ADK, at the very bottom left of the CTA endorsement email is a link "Forward this email." When you click on the link it allows you to forward the email to ** 7 ** people and to even add a personal message. The email is not copyright protected. Sorry, your attempt at censorship has no substance. Robin, thank you for printing the email and allowing the public to exercise its free speech which is ALWAYS protected by the First Amendment.

If that's the case, I was wrong...my apologies to Rhea, et al.

ADK, apology accepted by this blogger. I don't think anyone involved in this election is about to start posting confidential documents, especially after the drama with the investigative law firm and the leaked document.
