Four Lakeland Educators Earn Doctorates

Dr. Theresa Wilkowski, Dr. Kathryn Accurso and Dr. Karen Gagliardi graduated from St. John's University in early May. Dr. Carol Verrino graduated from Fordham this month as well.

St. John's University conferred doctoral degrees to their education students during a hooding ceremony on May 8 on the Queens campus. had three of their own earn Ed.D.'s in Instructional Leadership from the University's School of Education.

Carol Manocchi-Verrino, Ph.D. earned her doctoral degree at Fordham University this past weekend as well. Her doctorate is in Curriculum and Teaching, with an emphasis in Literacy, Learning, and Language. She is a resident of Mahopac.

Congratulations to Dr. Theresa Wilkowski, director of curriculum and a resident of Mohegan Lake; Dr. Kathryn Accurso, second grade teacher at Van Cortlandtville Elementary and a resident of Somers; and Dr. Karen Gagliardi, principal of and a resident of Yorktown, and Dr. Carol Verrino.
