The Peekskill Board of Education bade farewell last week to two of its members, including its vice president, whose terms end June 30.
Vice President Fran Feuerman chose not to seek re-election after seven years on the board. Marcela Bobe lost her bid for a second three-year term.
Board President Joseph Urbanowicz, speaking at the end of the June 19 board meeting, thanked both members for their service, dedication and hard work. “We will miss you,” he said.
He also expressed condolences to Bobe, who was absent because of a death in her family.
Feuerman was accorded the honor of moving to adjourn her final meeting as a board member.
Taking the places of Bobe and Feuerman will be Lisa Aspinall-Kellawon and Colin Smith, who were elected May 15 to three-year terms beginning July 1.
