Press release from : On March 3, The College of Westchester, White Plains, NY, presented 11 students with awards for outstanding achievement, determination and leadership in Computer and Business education.
The students were nominated by Maura Koch and Donna Stonis, Computer and Business Education teachers. The Hendrick Hudson students were among many students throughout the tri-state region that were recognized for excellence in their Business courses.
The students were presented their awards at the college’s annual ceremony held in the Grand Ballroom at the Marriott in Tarrytown. Westchester County Executive, Robert Astorino, addressed the recipients and commended their success in his keynote address. Recipients and their families then celebrated with a light reception that followed the awards ceremony.
The awards for Achievement in Business Education were given to senior, Amanda Bell; junior, Lance Altman; and sophomore, Kaitlyn Palka. In the category of Determination in Business Education senior, Constantina Price; junior, Danielle Ciofalo; and sophomore Daniel-John Perez won the awards.
The Computer Education Awards were given to senior, Christopher Chiffriller; junior, Conor Briggi, and sophomore Owen Kephart for Achievement. The Determination Awards in the Computer Education category went to senior, Nicholas Bucci and junior David Swadron. Junior, Danielle Jayme Green, was awarded the Leadership Achievement Award.
