PEEKSKILL MEANS BUSINESS

PEEKSKILL MEANS BUSINESS,

Mayoral candidate Frank Catalina may be an OK attorney; but he sure is loose with his facts and lousy with his numbers. He claims there’s been no – zero, none - economic activity under Mayor Foster’s administration. He must be out of town a lot.

Because 36 new businesses have come to Peekskill during Mayor Foster’s terms in office and 12 existing businesses have expanded in their current locations and/or opened others within the city – feeling confident that the grass is greener right here.

The latter include Bertoline & Sons, Seekercher, Peekskill Coffee House,Sav-More auto parts, White Plans Linen, Comfort Keepers, and Westledge Nursing Home,

As I write this, the city is talking to a developer about the former Karta Recycling property. There are two parcels. An environmental study had been done on the 1st parcel that the city purchased but is under no consent decree to clean it up. That will be done by a developer. The purchase of the 2nd parcel hasn't closed yet, because the seller has to submit an environmental closure plan to the DEC, which will adjust the purchase price. Ka-ching!

And now, the City Showcase Peekskill is doing, in conjunction with the Westchester County Association, will bring 100 real estate developers, investors and brokers to our city on September 25th.

Spearheaded by Mayor Foster and her council, Peekskill is not only open for business. Business is open to Peekskill.

In fact, Mr. Catalina can take a guided tour of them via Stella The Trolley  (which is another new business).
