Your Weekend: Carnival in Cortlandt Manor, Live Music

There are tons of ways to keep busy around Cortlandt and Peekskill this weekend, and we're here to help you decide which happenings are for you.

Carnival at St. Columbanus Church
When: Noon to 4 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday
Where: St. Columbanus Church (122 Orgeon Road in Cortlandt Manor)
Why go? With bumper cars, go karts, mini golf, prizes and more, this event promises to be fun for the whole family.

Family Day Art Workshop: 'Portraying Your Personal History'
When: 2 p.m. Sunday
Where: Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art (1701 Main Street in Peekskill)
Why go? The goal of this session is to "create a self-reflecting object" using images to describe one's "personal history." All ages are welcome. Participants should bring along their photos printer paper. Click the link above for details on how to RSVP.

The Kristina Koller Band CD Release Party
When: 9:30 p.m. Friday
Where: 12 Grapes (12 North Division Street in Peekskill)
Why go? Folks who attend will hear a mix of funk, jazz and rock. The band—which is celebrating its debut CD "LIVE at The Shrine"—is made up of the 19-year-old, plus Mark McIntyre on guitar/backup vocals, Greg Schettino on bass/backup vocals, John Venezia on drums and Orice Jenkins on the keys. Entertainment fee is $5.
