Attached (in the PDF) is the message we received today from Con Edison regarding tonight’s snow and wind storm.  As I have updated you since Hurricane Sandy, we have met with Con Ed officials and their President to tell them our many concerns about their slow response to our 5,000 homes that were without power during and after this 100 year hurricane.  We realize it was a terrible storm; however, the restoration was too slow.

Also, we met with a few of Con Ed’s main managers in a smaller meeting to request repair work and tree trimming to commence immediately by their company and they agreed.  We receive updates periodically on these items and of course the Town has had ongoing clean-up and work related tasks to prepare for the next storm.

So now we are facing that next storm and hopefully some progress has been made and that Con Ed’s response will be quicker.  Always comments are directed towards Con Ed management not their workers who have to face the elements to restore the power for us.  Remember to sign up for our Code Red emergency number at www.townofcortlandt.com, click on the CODE RED link of the left side of our homepage and follow the directions.

Thank you and stay safe.

Linda Puglisi
