An 18-year-old Peekskill man is accused of stealing a scarf from Macy's on New Year's Day, Yorktown police said.
The man, who is scheduled to answer the theft charge in Yorktown Town Court next month, was arrested on Jan. 1 at 5:23 p.m. Police said Macy's security personnel reported the shoplifter in custody at about 5 p.m. The Peekskill man is accused of stealing a scarf, valued at $42.
He was charged with petty larceny, a misdemeanor; and released on $100 bail.
The man was scheduled to appear in Yorktown Town Court on Feb. 4.
