joshua tanner February 07, 2013 at 08:18 PM
its not supposed top snow until like 5 or 6 AM so I dont think the PD will be out at 8.30 PM giving out tickets. Its been my experience the tickets come more at the end of the designated time than at the beginning

Facts are important in this storm stuff. Specifying the "problem" of Dyckman Ave when its Dyckman St highlights the lack of understanding about that street and about how past complainers made things worse. 15 years or so ago there was a big storm of 2.5 feet (very rare). People whined and complained about everything - the plows making return visits, clogged streets etc. One result of one unique storm and the crying was that streets like Frost (next to Dyckman) lost ALL parking during storms. So one reason Dyckman is congested is because people on other side streets (and we know Peekskill homes get overcowded) have to rush over to Dyckman during a storm alert - alerts which many people never find out about - even the ones who speak and read English. If people didn't become irrationally upset over one freak storm 15 years ago their wouldn't be some of the problems present complainers dwell on. Things are not as bad as they make them out to be. I would also contest the claim people aren't getting tickets. I know quite well that if a car is out in a weather alert the chances of getting a ticket are quite good (and the ticket is often under the snow on the window)

Thank you

I am not sure where all this animosity comes from....correct me if I am wrong but this is a forum to comment on the topic at hand and continue the conversation....not be judgemental or rude...I will not apologise for the fact that in the past folks did not comply with rules... Having said that kudos to the people living on dykeman AVENUE they are mostly in compliance... Peace to all and be safe with the storm.

Please come down to Sherman Avenue also!! Thank you!!!! I live in Patricia Gardens and the plow trucks barely come down Sherman..I followed directions yesterday and parked on the right side of the street as directed by the signs but when I look out my windows this morning, there's an overload of cars on both sides of the street..PLEASE come down Sherman Avenue because I have to work tomorrow morning and I do not want to have to shovel my car out..I wish I had the privilege of not going but I'm a nurse at a 24 hr facility..and my job is approximately 10 minutes away..THANK YOU!!!!
Wendy Kelly February 08, 2013 at 02:21 PM
