Valley Cottage Woman May Have Known Her Killer: Police

Clarkstown Police Sgt. J. Fratianni issued a statement about the department's ongoing investigation into the death of a Valley Cottage woman. 

The following are details that can be released at this time regarding the homicide investigation into the death of Valley Cottage resident Peggy Nadell.

The Clarkstown Police Department still considers this to be a very active investigation. Ms. Nadell was found on Saturday morning shortly before 9:30 AM by her daughter, Susanne Scaccio. No forced entry into the residence was found.  An autopsy was performed by the Rockland County Medical Examiner’s Office and the cause of death has been determined to be homicidal violence.

At this time, there is a strong possibility that the victim may have known her assailant.  The Clarkstown Police Department believes that this is an isolated incident and that there is no further danger to the community at this time.  

The Clarkstown Police Department is also seeking the assistance of the public.  Anyone with information regarding the death of Ms. Nadell is asked to contact the Clarkstown Police Detective Bureau at 845-639-5840 or the anonymous tips line at 1-877-639-6233.
