Troopers: Employee at Cortlandt Business Falsifies Returns, Steals $1,300

A 25-year-old Mohegan Lake man is accused of falsifying return transaction receipts and stealing more than $1,300, police said.

State troopers from the Cortlandt barracks arrested Henry Ortega Monday in connection with the crime. It took place at the local Home Depot, where Ortega was employed.

Ortega was processed without incident, according to officials. He is facing two felony charges: first-degree falsifying business records and grand larceny. He is due Nov. 22 in Cortlandt Justice Court.
