Theft from Parked Cars in Cortlandt

Items from the Westchester County Police blotter in Cortlandt.

Last weekend residents in Cortlandt have reported numerous thefts and incidents to the Westchester County police. This information is from the Westchester County Police. It does not indicate a conviction.

On Saturday, Sept. 3 at 8:30 a.m. a resident of Lexington Avenue in Mohegan Lake reported to Westchester County police that someone entered his car while it was parked in his driveway and stole a Canon camera, camera bag and accessories.  The theft occurred sometime after 11 p.m. the night before.

The next day, Sunday, Sept. 4, at 8 a.m., a Croton Avenue resident reported that her mailbox was vandalized between 1 and 8 a.m.  Four other mailboxes along the road were subsequently found to have been damaged as well.

At 8:15 a.m. Sunday a resident of Floral Road reported that someone removed her purse from her car while it was parked overnight in her driveway.  The purse contained credit cards, personal identification, a cell phone charger and an iPod charger.

Also on Saturday, an employee of Budget Truck Rental on Route 6 reported to Westchester County police that a customer who rented a 2011 GMC box truck had failed to return it. The rental company reported that mumerous efforts to contact the customer were unsuccessful.
