Scarsdale Man Charged with Felony DWI After Crash in Peekskill

John Stevenson was charged with felony driving while intoxicated after he crashed his two truck into five parked vehicles on Main Street in Peekskill last weekend.

A Scarsdale man was arrested and charged with felony counts of driving while intoxicated and aggravated unlicensed operation following an accident in Peekskill Sunday.

 Police arrested John Stevenson, 32, of Scarsdale, and charged him with DWI and first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation. At about 1 a.m. Sunday, police responded to a call for a personal injury accident on the 1400 block of Main Street.

 When police arrived, they found that Stevenson had hit five parked vehicles with his two truck and had suffered minor injuries.

Stevenson was treated at Hudson Valley Hospital Center and released into police custody and charged.

Police said Stevenson refused to submit to a blood alcohol test during the incident. Stevenson was arraigned and is scheduled to appear in Peekskill court at a later date.

A person is charged with felony DWI if they have had a prior conviction within a 10 year period. A person is charged with felony aggravated unlicensed operation if they have 10 or more suspensions for failure to answer, appear or pay a fine in court.
